23rd ANNUAL EVENT: ‘DO-RE-MI CAPEREIRA’

SIS FAMILY CELEBRATES SHANTINIKETAN INDIAN SCHOOL’S 23rd ANNUAL EVENT: ‘DO-RE-MI CAPEREIRA’ A FUSION OF SPORTS AND  CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Shantiniketan Indian School celebrated the 23rd Annual Event on 26th January, 2023  displaying a harmonious and captivating cultural fiesta on its premises. The entire show was an integration of colours, beauty, rhythm and vibrancy- a perfect symphony in motion. The highlight of the day was the celebration of the 74th Republic Day which was commemorated by the flag hoisting ceremony by Mr. Rasheed Ahmed, the School President, Ms. Pamela Ghosh, the Principal of SIS, and the members of the  Managing Committee. The main attraction of the event was exhibiting patriotism through the National Anthem and a patriotic song followed by parade and  a short cultural event recognising  ‘The  International Year of Millets’.

The program commenced with welcoming the dignitaries and  audience who witnessed various displays symbolizing alternative sources of energy. The fiesta of Zumba and Hoola Hoop dance made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared. Academic excellence awards to the students  and Teachers’  were presented during the award ceremony. Academic, administrative and support staff received mementos for their meritorious long service at Shantiniketan Indian School.

The most awaited cultural extravaganza began with a Do-Re-Mi theme song presented by the students of Classes I and II. Fancy Pyramid was performed by the Middle Section students which created a magical charm among the audience who were left mesmerized by the sheer talent of the students. The Students of the Secondary Section showed how an ordinary day can be turned into a ‘scintillating one’ by presenting the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ through various dance and art forms. The last performance of the day was marked by the Senior Secondary Students staging out a mime titled ’Happiness is a Bliss’ bringing out the essence of life by portraying the most famous Shakespearean poem, ‘All The World’s A Stage’.

The emcees of the day expressed their gratitude to the esteemed Guests, the Managing Committee Members, the leaders of the school, the parents, students and the entire administrative staff for their extensive support to make the 23rd Annual Events a grand success.
