The 26th SIS Athlon – Annual Sports Meet of Shantiniketan Indian School for the Academic Year 2025–2026 was held with great enthusiasm, drawing active participation from students across all houses and sections. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.
The meet began with a welcome address by Head Girl, Maisa Mansoor. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Amir Gendya, Manager of Al Arabi Sports Club, and Guest of Honour Mr. E. P. Abdul Rahman, President of ISC. The Athletic Meet was officially inaugurated by Vice President Mr. Anwar Hussain, who lit the ceremonial torch symbolizing unity and determination. Principal Mr. Rafeeq Rahim addressed the gathering and declared the meet open.
A total of 42 events were conducted, including track and field competitions, fun races, and relay events. Students from Sub-Junior, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior categories showcased exceptional athletic skills and team spirit throughout both the forenoon and afternoon sessions. Individual champions were recognized in each category, honoring outstanding performances among boys and girls.
The grand finale featured thrilling relay races, followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Emerald House emerged as the Overall House Champion, combining scores from all sessions. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Head Boy Rayyan Najim and closing remarks from the Principal.
The 26th SIS Athlon was widely celebrated as a successful event, offering students an inspiring platform to develop sportsmanship, leadership, and physical fitness.
