75th Indian Independence Day celebrated at SIS

The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated by Shantiniketan Indian School with great patriotism and fervor. Students, teachers and parents joined hands to share messages, and relived the thoughts of great patriots who paved the way for Indian Independence. The recorded programmes were premiered on YouTube.

The morning the National Flag was hoisted in School by the President of the School Managing Committee– Mr. Rasheed Ahamed ensuring social distancing and the prescribed safety norms set by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health.  

While delivering his Independence Day message, President School Management Committee – Mr. Rasheed Ahamed  said “let us all be broad enough to accept diversity and let us have national priorities along with our personal and family priorities.” He also advised the students to fight together against poverty, corruption and discrimination and mould ourselves as Indians who can contribute towards cultural and economic development of the nation and be united for one reason – India. 

Principal – Dr. Subhash B. Nair in his message advised to work and build together a happy and confident community which can enjoy the gift of life in spite of all its limitations, difficulties and hard hits and build together a world together through our dreams, thoughts, words and actions.  Let’s be considerate and supportive to each other and derive the complete benefit of togetherness, collaboration and collectivism and also grow wiser and selfless in our service to the nation and humanity  

Students displayed their innate talents through speeches, songs, dance, art and technological skills to make the programme a memorable one for all the audience. Parents and teachers shared their messages in regional languages upholding the unity and integrity of Indian culture and traditions. Some students brought alive the thoughts of great patriots who shaped the freedom through their own actions.

The entire SIS family congratulated the students, parents and teachers for their collaborative effort in designing and executing a memorable programme.
