On 16th September 2015, twenty students of different Grades got a unique opportunity to visit the Indian Navy Ship, INS Trishul at Doha port. The Ship reached Qatar on 14th September 2015 on a Good will visit to further strengthen India’s bilateral cooperation with the state of Qatar. The ship was built in Baltic Shipyard, St Petersburg, Russia is a 125m long stealth frigate, displacing 4000 tonnes and with a top speed in excess of 30 knots. The ship is capable of undertaking multiple and varied missions and has a Kamov 31 helicopter onboard which enhances its operational capabilities.
The students were given a warm welcome onboard by the naval officers.  Then, they were taken to the different operational units of the ship. The officer explained the role and the operation of each unit. Students were curious and asked many questions.  The students gathered knowledge of the operational capacity of the ship and the technology applied. Students also expressed their appreciation towards the Indian Navy for their handwork and dedicated services to the nation and their efforts in strengthening international peace. At the end of the tour, student were served light snacks.
This unique experience motivated some of the students to dream a career in Indian Navy. The students were accompanied by Mr. Jamal MP and Ms Padma.
