Attitude and Gratitude

‘Our blooming buds show kindness to create a vision for tomorrow’.

The KG & Primary wing of Shantiniketan Indian School observed ‘A Day of Gratitude’ last week where children reflected on and celebrated all that they are grateful for.

Students presented colourful appreciation cards, gift vouchers and thanks giving cards expressing heartfelt thanks to their teachers’, friends and parents for their devoted time, love and patience.

This endeavour encouraged children to notice and acknowledge the little things and appreciate the simple pleasure and happiness that they previously took for granted.

Our little ones took initiative to recognize and laud the great efforts of all their teachers whose footprints have moulded their life and character to set an example for others to follow. The humility, modesty and submissiveness of our innocent ones left a lasting imprint on the teachers.

The main attraction of the event was ‘The Wall of Generosity’ created to encourage our tiny tots to support and donate the people in need. The young ones took this opportunity to make generous contribution in cash and kind to the helpers, cleaners, drivers and the security guards. For the first time at SIS a wall symbolizing ‘kindness’ has been created which was highly appreciated by one and all.

This initiative of showing humanity was the beginning of courtesy, generosity, concern and appreciation for school and society.

Honorable Principal Dr. Subhash Nair was beamed with delight on receiving creatively designed cards made by the students expressing their love, attachment and gratitude towards their beloved principal.

Headmistress Mrs. Mehjabeen Hasan inspired and the little ones to thank God for all the elements of life. She appreciated the students for their spirited participation and adoring attitude.

The activity thus motivated children to inculcate an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ in their experiences instead of waiting for a positive experience to be grateful.
