“Tiny tots excitingly step into a structured learning environment…”
KG and Primary Wing of SIS organised familiarization of the class and campus for the newly enrolled KG I students and their families. The session was held from 20th March to 23rd March, 2016.
With an objective to foster communication between the teachers and parents and to build a strong partnership between school and home meticulously planned interactive sessions were organized in a pleasant and hospitable ambience. This endeavour introduced children to new learning experiences and helped them to widen their horizons about the kindergarten set up.
The whole KG and Primary Wing was decorated colourfully and looked vibrant to make the event a memorable one for the new admits. Student’s art work and photographs of children engaged in various activities were displayed in the corridors.
The students and parents were taken around the campus and they got to know the lay out of the school-the kindergarten classrooms, accounts and transport dept., Montessori block, Principal’s office, HM’s office, Canteen area etc. Children were excited by the unique features of the kindergarten classrooms.
During the interaction the class teachers briefed the parents about the classroom rules, routines, requirements etc. The teachers also addressed issues which were of concern to the parents. The students were provided with diaries and ID Cards.
The Kindergarten handbook provided a deep insight into our Kindergarten Programme. Video clippings of various activities conducted in the school were also shown to the parents.
Mr. Manaf addressed parents about issues related to transport.
The children and parents just loved the entire experience and seemed to grow a bit more confident due to this purposefully planned exposure. The event was successful in ensuring a smooth transition from home to school for the young ones.
