September 2, 2026:

The Career Counselor’s Hub organized a two-day conference in Qatar on 1st and 2nd of September 2026, bringing together academic advisors and school counselors from across the country, including Ms. Faheema Mustafa and Ms. Ansiya. The conference focused on bridging the academic and psychological gap students face while transitioning from high school to higher education.
The first day explored the significant shift from structured high-school routines to university life, emphasizing independent time management, high-stakes grading, self-advocacy, and higher-order thinking skills such as analysing and evaluating information. The vital role of school counselors and university partners in supporting students through this transition was highlighted.
The second day focused on practical pathways, university networking, and professional skill-building. Participants explored applied education models for future learners and visited the Qatar Foundation networking exhibition, connecting with representatives from local universities and institutes. The event concluded with a British Council workshop on effective public speaking, covering presentation techniques, managing nerves, and engaging audiences.
Overall, the conference offered valuable insights into postsecondary readiness, university options in Qatar, and effective communication strategies for student guidance and professional development.
