Children’s Book Day

April 8, 2025:

The tiny tots of KG II from the Foundational Section celebrated The Children’s Book Day. It was a special occasion aimed at fostering a love for reading and promoting literacy among young learners. This event was held in our vibrant classrooms and brought together students, teachers, and families to explore the wonderful world of books in a fun and engaging way.
The little ones began the day with a read-aloud session. The story books were read aloud while the students listened attentively, the teachers then discussed the characters and themes. Questions were asked to encourage predictions and to build personal connections with the story. Students created their own storybook covers. Each child drew their favorite scene or character from the book they read. They used crayons, markers, and stickers to decorate their covers, and their work was displayed in their class.
Our inquisitive readers of KG II visited the School Library to engage in a fun and educational exploration of books and reading. The purpose of this visit was to introduce students to the library environment, encourage a love for reading and help them to learn about the resources available to them. During the visit, students participated in guided activities that aimed to foster literacy skills and promote community engagement.
Throughout the day, children participated in a variety of activities including story time, arts and craft activities, and visits to the library all designed to inspire creativity and a passion for storytelling. Children’s Book Day not only provided an opportunity for students to showcase their favorite stories but also encouraged community involvement and the joy of sharing their knowledge gained by reading with others.
