Constitution Day Celebration- 2015

“The greatest threat to our Constitution is our own ignorance of it.”

Constitution Day was celebrated at SIS on 26th November, 2015 with great enthusiasm and respect. The main objective was to enlighten the minds of the future Indian generation about the significance of this epic document.

On this remarkable day, the students from classes VI – X got an opportunity to display their exceptional talents in the art of calligraphy, poster making and essay writing in the form of a competition. Students in large number participated with great enthusiasm and spirit to create a challenging environment in the school during the day.

They came up with wonderful presentation of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution in different calligraphic styles. The ideals contained in the Preamble were beautifully presented in the posters that they created on the spot reflecting their own ideas and creativity. Through their essays, the students were able to showcase their solidarity and respect they carry for the Constitution of India.

Mr. Shakir Hussain – HOD Social Science explained the Preamble and the significant features of the Indian Constitution in a special Assembly organized to celebrate the occasion of the Constitution Day, celebrated for the first time in the history of Independent India all across India and the Indian Schools across the world.

Mr. Shihabudeen Pullath, Vice Principal Academics, conducted the Pledge taking of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution that filled the air at SIS with sheer patriotism and nationalist spirit.

Dr. Subhash Nair – Principal, SIS- reiterated the values contained in the Preamble and explained how this can be imbibed in every child studying in the school to create able human beings that can be the pride of the parents, the school and their nation. He also congratulated all the teachers of the Department of Social Science to organize the whole programme in a wonderful manner.
