Earth Hug Day (AN)

June 8, 2026:

The Kindergarten Section of the Afternoon Shift observed Earth Hug Day through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities aimed at nurturing environmental awareness and responsibility among young learners.

To mark the occasion, students collaboratively created a vibrant collage board titled “Our Environment,” showcasing different elements of nature, including trees, flowers, animals, birds, and water bodies. Through this creative expression, children explored the beauty and diversity of the natural world while developing an appreciation for its preservation.

A tree-planting activity provided students with a meaningful opportunity to connect with nature. As they planted and cared for young saplings, they learned about the importance of trees in providing clean air, shade, and a healthy ecosystem. The activity encouraged a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the environment.

Students also participated in an interactive water-cleaning activity, where they observed simple methods of separating waste materials from water. This hands-on experience helped them understand the effects of pollution and highlighted the importance of keeping water sources clean and safe for all living things.

The celebration was further enriched by the presence of our respected Principal, Mr. Rafeeq Rahim, Senior Head Master, Mr. Rafeeque Ahmed, Senior Operations Manager, Mr. Abdul Hameed, and Academic Supervisor, Ms. Sajina C. A. The dignitaries interacted warmly with the children, visited the activity stations, appreciated their efforts, and encouraged them to become responsible caretakers of the Earth. Their interaction added inspiration and significance to the event.

The programme provided valuable learning experiences that promoted environmental consciousness through active participation and exploration. It helped children develop a deeper understanding of conserving natural resources, reducing pollution, and caring for their surroundings while fostering creativity, teamwork, observation, and communication skills.
