We are pleased to report the successful completion of the networking and medical insight-sharing event organized by Dr. Leila Hamid Medical Center. The program proved to be an enriching experience, offering valuable opportunities for professional interaction and knowledge exchange.
The event was attended by numerous experts from diverse medical fields, making it a unique learning platform for students. Twelve students from Grades 10 and 12 had the privilege of participating in the session, where they engaged with professionals and gained firsthand exposure to various medical disciplines.
The students were escorted by Ms. Aneesha, and the program was coordinated by Senior Activity Coordinator Ms. Soumya Mathew.
Presentations and Interactions:
1.Dr. Shaima and Dr. Aisha (Dentists):
Both dentists highlighted the significance of oral hygiene and the importance of visiting the dentist every six months for regular check-ups.They demonstrated the correct brushing techniques and conducted a dental check-up for one of the students.The dentists also showcased the various dental tools used in their practice and explained the purpose of each.
2.Dr. Ebtesam (Gynecologist):
Dr. Ebtesam gave an engaging presentation about the role of a gynecologist, specifically in the care of pregnant women.She demonstrated the use of X-ray and CT scan machines on a pregnant patient, showing the students the development of the fetus, its movements, and the heartbeat.The students were particularly excited and even had the opportunity to try operating the CT scan machine.
3.Ms. Fathima (Manager):
Ms. Fathima shared insights into the management aspect of a medical center, highlighting the importance of organization and coordination in healthcare.
4.Dr. Isra (Medical Professional):
Dr. Isra conducted blood tests for two students and carefully explained the entire process.The test results were immediately provided to the students, and they were given a thorough explanation of the reports.
Gifts and Motivation:
As a token of appreciation, the medical center presented a memento to the school and distributed gifts to the students. The medical professionals shared motivational talks, emphasizing the importance of consistency in studies, the commitment required to pursue a career in medicine, and the necessity of being a lifelong learner
This meeting was a wonderful learning experience for the students. They had the chance to interact with various doctors, explore medical equipment, and gain insights into different medical professions. The event was not only informative but also motivating for students aspiring to pursue careers in the medical field.
