January 15, 2026:
An Emotional Literacy Session was conducted on 15 January 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH) for Preparatory Stage Grade 3 students during their weekly assembly. The session was led by the School Counsellor, Ms. Faheema Mustafa, under the guidance of the Academic Supervisor, Mr. Wayne Rodrigues, and the Activity Coordinator, Ms. Nazia Tahseen.
The interactive session introduced students to the concept of emotional zones — Green, Yellow, Red, and Blue — in a simple and age-appropriate manner. Students learned that emotions extend beyond basic feelings and that each zone represents different emotional states. To enhance understanding and engagement, hands-on activities such as blowing colour-coded balloons and identifying emotional zones through everyday scenarios were conducted.
These activities helped students recognize their own emotions and begin understanding the feelings of others. The session successfully fostered emotional awareness, empathy, and self-understanding, providing students with a strong foundation in emotional literacy through an enjoyable and supportive learning experience.
