Fit India School Week
In connection with Fit India school week celebration, SIS organized various events to promote healthy and Fit community. The Fit India school week was celebrated by the department of Physical Education from December 1 to10. Different varieties of programs were organized under the guidance of Art department, English department and P.E department ranging from poster making competition for students to Fitness program for teachers.
Following are the events organized in Shantiniketan Indian School,
- Freehand exercise
Around 150 students took part in the free hand exercise that was conducted at different time in the class rooms.
- Yoga
Different yogic asana were practiced in the class. Around 150 students received the opportunities to experience yoga.
- Squat challenge
Students were given the chance to perform squat exercise in the physical exercise
- Poster making
Students from class 1 to 10 participated in poster making competition organizes on the theme ‘New India- Fit India’. Around 50 students participated in the event
- Essay writing
‘Fit India School Week’(01.12.20 – 3.12.20) was celebrated in Shantiniketan Indian School-Doha-Qatar for students of the middle section (VI-VIII). As nowadays children remain stuck with gadgets and indulging in their health due to a lack of physical activity. To make everyone aware about physical and mental fitness, it was organized. The motto of organizing it was also to attract everyone towards Indian culture through Essay/Poem Writing Competition on the theme “Fitness beats pandemic” which were conducted in the physical and virtual classes. It helped students to develop skills like creativity, concentration, logical thinking, improving memory power, and expressions. Students participated actively and expressed their views through writing.
- Virtual challenges for teachers
Around 120 teachers took part in the fitness program that was conducted in teachers discussion forum.
