Gardening Day

“Go green to keep our globe clean”

KG & Primary wing celebrated ‘Gardening day- Go Green’ on 5th June 2016 to enjoy the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity.

Children were engaged in various activities like drawing, colouring, thumb printing and collage work depicting gifts of nature. They brought potted plants and spoke about the various uses of plants and trees. Children were mesmerized by the video clips that depicted nature at its best. The stories and documentaries shown enlightened the children on the importance of nature and the need to conserve it.

Inculcating an appreciation of nature among students and encouraging them to participate in a variety of conservation initiatives was the sole aim of organizing ‘Gardening Day’. Its efforts include the teachers of the school to talk to students and sensitize them to the opportunities and challenges in addressing environmental issues.

All these activities helped children to understand the importance of plants and trees and motivated them to connect with nature.

Participating and engaging young ones in such nature-oriented programmes helped them to develop concern towards conserving the Mother Nature.

Teachers provided the groundwork to establish an awareness among our young students about the importance of the environment and its future care.

This endeavour aimed at committing to work together to build a safer, more prosperous and equitable world for all and to ensure environmental sustainability.

Little ones solemnly promised to plant trees and save trees to make our planet a better place….!!
