October 4, 2025:

Celebrating World Teachers’ Day at Shantiniketan Indian School
Shantiniketan Indian School proudly hosted Global Connect 2025 – Connecting Classrooms, Connecting Minds on 4th October 2025, marking the celebration of World Teachers’ Day. The event created a vibrant platform for cross-cultural learning, best practice sharing, and meaningful dialogue between educators across borders.
This year’s exchange brought together passionate educators from Thailand and Tanzania, who inspired our faculty with their experiences, innovative strategies, and cultural insights.
From Bangkok, Thailand, we had Ms. Shifana Nijam – Social Emotional Guidance Counselor & Lifeskills Teacher.
From Tanzania (Eden Garden Primary School):

  • Ms. Clarence Ponera – Science and Mathematics teacher with a background in Chemistry and Biology.
  • Mr. Edson Joseph – Secondary Education holder, competent in English and all Arts competences
  • Ms. Marystella Mrema – Nursery Teacher
Through interactive discussions, our guest teachers shared their best practices, creative and tech-based teaching strategies, and approaches to engaging students across diverse classrooms. They also highlighted cultural perspectives and challenges that broadened our teachers’ understanding of global education.
The sessions were wonderfully moderated by Ms. Nazia Tahseen and Mrs. Nilafar Nisha Sanoof, while the entire program was organized and coordinated by the Academic Supervisor, Mrs. Nazia Saleem. It concluded with an open Q&A and reflections on possible future collaborations, followed by review and remarks by the Principal, Mr. Rafeeq Rahim, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness in education.
At SIS, we believe in nurturing a culture of shared learning beyond borders. This exchange truly celebrated the essence of teaching – inspiring minds, bridging cultures, and building connections that matter.
