Guidance Session – The Kindness Quest (AN)

May 17, 2026:

Shantiniketan Indian School’s Preparatory Section (Afternoon Shift) hosted an inspiring guidance session titled “The Kindness Quest” for students in Grades 3 to 5 at the MPH under the guidance of Academic Coordinator Ms. Sreerekha on 17th May, 2026. Carefully designed and facilitated by school counsellor Ms. Ansiya M.A., the program focused on teaching empathy, understanding personal impact, and cultivating a welcoming school community.

Using relatable examples and interactive storytelling, the icebreaker session showed students how a single person’s mood can influence the entire school, and how choosing kindness actually boosts our own happiness. The core lesson introduced the three building blocks of true kindness: Kind Actions (helpful school behaviors), Kind Words (using manners and compliments), and Kind Thoughts (practicing empathy).

Through a Real-Life Scenario Activity, students actively discussed how to handle everyday classroom and playground challenges with compassion. A dedicated discussion on “The Ripple Effect” beautifully illustrated how words matter and how one tiny, positive gesture can trigger a massive wave of goodwill across the campus.

The session wrapped up by handing out a special “Kindness Challenge” mission to every student, empowering them to kickstart a real “Kindness Wave” that transforms the school into a much happier place.
