Guides Training Camp 2024

On February 24, 2024, Guides from SIS took part in a Guide Training Camp at Ideal Indian School in Doha, Qatar. The camp, led by Ms. Carol Gonsalves, Guide Teacher Leader, and Mrs. Alphonse Sintiya, Assistant Guide Teacher Leader, consisted of a variety of activities and workshops. These activities and workshops covered Scout traditions, patrol flag design, fire safety, and self-defense.

One of the most memorable moments of the camp was a training session conducted by students from Shantiniketan Indian School. They named their session “Camp Colour Quest” and it focused on the psychology of colors. The aim was to empower participants to understand the link between colors and personality traits. This innovative initiative, led by the students themselves, promoted peer learning and showcased the leadership skills of the Shantiniketan students.

The camp concluded with SIS receiving first place for cleanliness and being awarded a Certificate of Appreciation. This achievement not only demonstrated the personal growth, skill development, and camaraderie among the participants, but also facilitated interaction and knowledge sharing between the schools.
