Healthy eating patterns in childhood and adolescence promote optimal childhood- health, growth, and intellectual development. It can prevent immediate health problems such as iron deficiency anemia, obesity; eating disorders etc. School health programms can help the children to attain full educational potential and good health by providing them with the skills, social support and environmental reinforcement. They need to adopt long-term healthy eating behaviors. School based programs can play an important role in promoting lifelong healthy eating.
As the part of teaching and learning process IVth standard students conducted “HEALTHY FOOD EXHIBITION”. It was held on 9th June 2014 Monday. Students were grouped into three groups. Group-A made healthy sandwiches, Group-B made fresh fruit salad and Group-C made delicious chaat. All of them made food in the class with lots of enjoyment and it was displayed in our corridor. Mrs.Dhani Rejeendran and Mrs. Amrita Banerjee was incharge of this programme.
