December 10, 2025:
The Afternoon Shift of Shantiniketan Indian School enthusiastically celebrated Human Rights Day on Wednesday, 10th December, through a variety of meaningful activities conducted across all sections. Each class contributed in its own creative way to build awareness about the importance of human rights.
In the Kindergarten section, children created a vibrant Human Rights Wall, which helped them understand basic rights. Grades 1 and 2 presented an impactful assembly highlighting the value of respecting one another and treating everyone equally. Grade 2 A took the lead with a special assembly on the theme of human rights. Students of these grades also participated in a collage-making competition where they depicted important rights. Their work showcased creativity as well as a growing awareness of the world around them.
Programs for Grades 3 to 9 were conducted by the Social Science Department. Grade 3 students designed their “My Essential Smile Cards”, beautifully expressing the essential needs and rights every child deserves. Grade 4 showcased their creativity through a poster-making competition that visually communicated the importance of equality and freedom. Grade 5 took part in a Reflection Card activity, where they wrote down their thoughts on the significance of human rights and how everyone can contribute towards making society better.
Students from Grades 6 to 9 conducted a meaningful assembly that emphasized the need to protect human rights in today’s world. Their presentations reflected responsibility, maturity, and a thoughtful understanding of global issues.
The highlight of the Human Rights Day celebration was a wonderfully presented musical drama based on the Right to Education. Creatively directed and well-organised by Mr. Sandeep and Mr. Ishaque, the performance delivered a strong message about ensuring education for every child.
The Human Rights Day celebration was meaningful and enriching. Students understood the importance of their rights through creative activities, and their enthusiastic participation made the event truly memorable.
