ICC 68th Republic Day Celebration

Students of the Shantiniketan Indian School presented a folk dance highlighting the unique tribal culture of the state of Kerala in the cultural extravaganza organized in commemoration of 68th Republic Day Celebration of India by the Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of the Embassy of India at La Cigale Hotel on 17th Friday, February 2017. Around 350 artists from Indian schools and other organizations presented various items from dance to skit showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the nation and its diversity in this cultural fiesta on the theme ‘Indian folk’.

The Ambassador of India to the state of Qatar, Mr. Kumran was the chief guest. He highlighted the success that India achieved in the various fields since India’s independence, in his inaugural address. Diplomates, officials, office bearers of ICC and other organizations and large community members were present at Al Wajba hall.  

The tribal dance presented by the young artists, THANISHYA V (8E), RIYA JAYAPRAKASH (8D), MEGNA KAMMATH (8A), VAISHNAVI SANTHANA LAKSHMI (6E), SNEHA TOM (6B), REDWA MURSHID (6B), GANGA GOPI (6Ai), MARY ISSAC (7D) & SWATHI.CB (6B) of SIS and choreographed by the dance teacher Mrs.Prajisha has received with a thunderous rounds of applauds. Mr.Jamal was the coordinator.
