Pre-Primary Section of Shantiniketan Indian School celebrated Kids Gala from 9th October to 13th October, 2016.The various competitions conducted during the event were Qur’an memorization, Music Mania, Speech with a flair, Super Dancers and Fancy Dress.
The best way to tap the innate talents of our little ones is through various co-curricular activities. Kids Gala is one such an endeavour to provide our children with wonderful opportunities to explore themselves and to nurture the dormant seeds of talents to bring out their best.
Kids Gala commenced on 9th October 2016 with the glorious recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur’an.
Qur’an Memorization – “The best among you is the one who learns and teaches Qur’an”
With a virtuous objective to motivate the little ones to learn and love Qur’an, teachers took meticulous step to organise Qur’an memorization competition in a reverent and highly devoted environment. Children rendered the Surahs with spiritual enthusiasm and zeal.
Music Mania – “Where words fail…Music speaks…”
This much awaited contest drew maximum number of participants. The Activity Hall was loaded with enthusiasm, energy and vibrant actions. A variety of action songs were sung by our little ones with relevant props. They performed displaying rhythm, intonation and with a well-coordinated tempo. Voice modulation, pronunciation, props, expressions and gestures made the session lively and mirthful. It was indeed gratifying to see the good effects of music on our little ones.
Speech with a flair – “Young eloquent speakers march forward confidently in the direction of their dreams….”
The budding orators spoke on a wide range of topics like Discipline, Good manners, Girl child, Water, Go green etc. The confident speakers through their eloquence and striking gestures were able to attract the audience and retain their attention. The aspiring contestants were successful in injecting the required flair and inspiration.
Super Dancers- “DANCE- the joy of movement and the heart of life….”
Focussed and passionate dancers exhibited talent in an encouraging and challenging environment. The young dancers displayed graceful movements and their performance captivated one and all. This venture proved to be an apt platform for educating and broadening the mind to appreciate and integrate the artistic voice of dance in all forms. It offered our children an opportunity to establish a fundamental love of the art of dance as well as refinement of self-expression and creativity.
Fancy dress – “Little kiddies express splendour, grandeur & elegance in their dazzling costumes and much worked upon props……..”
A spectacular event which brought forth exciting children dressed up in colourful and fabulous costumes on the stage presenting interesting characters bringing to life the lifeless things. It was indeed a visual treat to see children parading on the stage with confidence, ease and pride in their well-designed costumes depicting various characters and themes. A few to list out are Astronaut, Fairies, Graceful Peacock, Confident Inspector and many more. The performance was judged on the basis of theme, costume, presentation and confidence. The competition brought an amiable ambience and the judges retorted with their applause.
The great deal of effort and the determined attempt of all the participants well supported by their parents was highly commendable. The contestants were stunning on the stage, magnificent and never failed to mesmerize the audience. The picturesque and splendour created by the sparkling children would be etched in our memory for a long time.
Finally the journey of showcasing the talents and potentialities came to end on 13th October 2016. It kindled the young minds with a desire to create a niche for themselves through hard work, self-confidence and competence. All the students thoroughly enjoyed each and every event and the air was filled with joy, merriment and excitement.
