Kindness in Words and Actions

May 20, 2025:

The school counselor, Ms. Faheema Mustafa, along with the support of Ms. Sabeena The Assistant teacher conducted an engaging and interactive session for students of KG1 and KG2 to help them understand the concept of kindness through both words and actions. The session was conducted under the guidance and coordination of the Academic Supervisor and Mrs. Roshini, the Activity coordinator.
The session began with an action song video that emphasized the use of kind words and kind behavior. The students actively participated by singing along and performing the actions with great enthusiasm, setting a positive tone for the session.
As a creative and reflective activity, each child was given a flower-shaped paper cutout to pin onto their shirt. The flower read “I am kind when…” and was completed with examples like smile, help others, and say kind words. This helped the children relate kindness to everyday actions.
The highlight of the session was a decision-making activity using visual cues. Students were shown various pictures depicting kind and unkind behaviors. One by one, each student analyzed a picture and decided if the action was kind or unkind. They then lined up behind placards labeled Kind and Unkind, allowing them to visually and physically engage with the concept of making kind choices.
The session concluded with a cheerful photo session of the students displaying their “kindness flowers.” Finally, the children were encouraged to recall and share what they had learned, reinforcing their understanding of being kind in both words and actions.
This fun and meaningful session successfully instilled the values of empathy, helpfulness, and kindness among the young learners in an age-appropriate and memorable way.
