Labour Day Celebration and Community Support Initiative by Student Council

May 4, 2025:

Shantiniketan Indian School commemorated Labour Day 2025 with a series of events aimed at honoring the invaluable contributions of the working community. The celebration began on 4th May 2025 within the school premises, where students and teachers organized a heartfelt assembly. Through speeches and performances, they acknowledged the efforts of school helpers—janitors, drivers, and security staff—who were honored with gifts and warm applause. The event also strengthened the school-home bond through active parental involvement.
In a parallel initiative, the school’s Scouts, Guides, and Student Council visited the Al Wukair labour camps. Under the guidance of school leaders and staff, students distributed food packets and interacted empathetically with workers facing tough living conditions. This outreach instilled in the students a sense of gratitude, compassion, and social responsibility.
Together, these events underscored the dignity of labor, fostering unity, appreciation, and respect for every worker’s contribution to society.
