Labour Day (Community Service)

May 4, 2026:

Shantiniketan Indian School (Forenoon and Afternoon Sections) witnessed a heartwarming act of generosity as students from KG to Grade 12 came together to contribute essential items, including dry goods, groceries, and toiletries, in a meaningful community outreach initiative.

With the dedicated support of the Scouts and Guides of the morning section, along with forenoon session students, the collected materials were carefully sorted and organized. These items were then distributed to fishermen and harbour workers at Al Corniche on 4th May, extending care and support to the local community.

The initiative aimed to instill values of empathy, social responsibility, and teamwork among students, while also raising awareness about the challenges faced by fishermen and harbour workers. It provided a valuable platform for students to actively engage in community service and develop leadership and organizational skills.

The programme was successfully coordinated by the Section Academic Supervisors, Activity Coordinators, Academic Coordinators, and the Scouts and Guides in-charge, Ms. Carol and Mr. Wasiullah—reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing compassion and responsible citizenship.
