Language Week

“Peace”- A universal language……

With an objective to highlight the significance of language in today’s world, SIS KG & Primary wing celebrated the Language Week from 10th January to 14th January 2016 in an ambience of joy, tranquility and unification.

Each department got actively involved in a variety of cultural programme where the students’ showcased their language skills vividly emphasizing the role of different languages in our life through a string of activities like poetic sessions, discourses, thematic skits and group songs.

Vibrant speeches and value integrated skits embellished the whole event.  Teachers drew the attention to the importance of each language in the teaching and learning process through the effective use of multimedia and video clippings. Exposing students to multiple languages enhances their access to people and resources thus, the students were encouraged to maximize their resources for fruitful learning experience. They were further motivated to choose and read different language books from our ever increasing multilingual library. The focus was on correct and habitual usage of English –the key global language. The little ones were encouraged to use simple and lucid language.

The world has become a melting point of cultural diversity today. Thus, fine tuning the language skills is the key to growth and understanding in this globally diverse domain.

Headmistress, Mrs. Mehjabeen Hasan induced and infused the young minds with the sense of developing home language and stressed the significance of English which truly connects the whole world together. “English as a language should be developed at the foundation stage and it is predominant to master the communicative skills as it is the need of the hour and society”, she said.

In a nutshell this amalgam of all languages had a positive and favourable impact on our students enhancing and widening their experience beyond academics.
