Making Smart and Safe Choices in the Digital World

June 17, 2026:

The Middle Section organized an engaging awareness session titled “Making Smart and Safe Choices in the Digital World” for Grade 8 students at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH) on 17 June 2026. The session was facilitated by Ms. Faheema Mustafa, School Counsellor, under the guidance of Ms. Nazia Saleem, Academic Supervisor, and Mrs. Soumya Mathew, Senior Activity Coordinator.

Designed to promote responsible technology use, healthy digital habits, and informed online decision-making, the session encouraged students to reflect on their screen-time practices and develop a balanced relationship with technology. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored important topics such as excessive screen use, the “Dopamine Trap,” cyberbullying, digital footprints, online safety, and the consequences of irresponsible online behaviour.

Activities like “Smart Choice or Not So Smart Choice?” and “Post It or Pause It?” enabled students to analyze real-life digital scenarios and make thoughtful online decisions. Students also learned practical strategies for digital well-being and were encouraged to participate in a Social Media Diet Challenge to foster healthier online habits.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, empowering students to become responsible, respectful, and mindful digital citizens.
