Department of Mathematics and Science of Shantiniketan Indian School with a joint effort organized Math and Science Expo on 26 May, 2016 in the school multipurpose hall in order to generate and sharpen the natural curiosity, innovation, inventiveness and to lay emphasis on the correlation of science and mathematics as a major instrument for achieving goals of self reliance, socio-economic and socio-ecological development and further to solve varied issues persisting in the social and physical environment.
The class wise competition was conducted for the young enthusiastic students of class VIII to XII of both CBSE-National & International stream. The participants representing their class took part with high competition spirit and exhibited innovative working models and still models.
The exhibits by different classes were indeed eye openers on various topics related to Pythagorean triangle applications, material science, tele-communication, Agriculture, Technology, physical phenomeonos, Community health, Environmental & Mathematical modeling etc.
With an endeavor to promote scientific and mathematical attitude among budding young students, this exhibition was one of its kind.
A set of competent judges gave their decision after inspecting each project on their own merit. The best exhibits in each category were declared. Students from different classes visited to view the exhibits which in turn proved to be a learning experience for them.
