Mental Health Day – Middle Section

October 9, 2025:

As part of the World Mental Health Day observance, the Middle Section of Shantiniketan Indian School organized a series of thoughtful and engaging activities aimed at creating awareness and promoting emotional well-being among students. Learners from Grades 6 to 8 actively participated in sessions designed to help them understand the importance of maintaining good mental health and developing positive coping strategies in their daily lives. Grade 6 students watched an informative video presentation that highlighted the value of mental health, the need to manage stress effectively, and simple ways to stay emotionally balanced. The video also encouraged them to be more compassionate and supportive toward their peers. Grade 7 students showcased their creativity through a vibrant poster-making activity, where they designed expressive and meaningful posters carrying strong messages about self-care, empathy, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health discussions. Grade 8 students, on the other hand, presented impactful role plays depicting real-life scenarios such as handling academic pressure, peer influence, and emotional struggles, while emphasizing the importance of open communication and mutual respect. These activities created a positive environment where students learned to value their own emotional well-being and that of others. The observance of World Mental Health Day served as a valuable reminder that good mental health is essential for leading a happy, balanced, and successful life, both in and outside the classroom.
