October 9, 2025:
The school’s Counseling and Guidance Department successfully marked World Mental Health Day with a powerfully interactive special session, “Mind Over Mood,” held for the senior students of Grade 9 in the MPH. This vital observance reinforced the message that “There is no health without mental health,” and aligned with the critical 2025 theme: “Access to Mental Health Services and Mental Health During Catastrophes and Emergencies.”
The session was led by the distinguished guest speaker, Mrs. Sajeda Tanveer Ahmed Ansari, Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer, a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist. Mrs. Sajeda engaged the students with warmth, empathy, and meaningful discussions around self-awareness, emotional balance, and mental well-being.
Mrs. Sajeda structured her talk to provide students with tangible strategies for emotional management. She opened the discussion with a relatable, humorous approach, listing common, counterproductive habits that often lead to “unsuccess.” These key psychological barriers included:
● Self-Doubt: The internal voice that prevents action.
● Comparison: The trap of measuring one’s worth against others, particularly on social media.
● Overthinking (Rumination): Getting stuck in negative thought loops.
By highlighting these points, Mrs. Sajeda effectively demonstrated how our thoughts directly influence our emotions and moods. She then provided practical guidance on how students can actively challenge these negative patterns, build inner strength, and develop emotional resilience—a critical life skill for navigating challenges.
The event was also supported by the presence of Mrs. Prajakta Karekar, Founder of Convo Heal Insights Training WLL, an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist and Certified RECBT Practitioner. The insightful and interactive nature of the session, beautifully led by Mrs. Ansari, was inspiring, highlighting the students’ enthusiasm and the school’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for emotional learning.
The special session was brought to a poignant close by a moving performance. Students from Grade 11 presented a profound mime based on a theme related to mental health. This powerful, non-verbal display served as a creative call to action, reminding everyone of the importance of empathy, understanding, and breaking the silence around mental health struggles. The special session ended with Principal Mr. Rafeeque Rahim and Vice Principal Mr. Sujith Kumar and formally felicitating Mrs. Sajeda Ansari and Mrs. Prajakta Karekar, expressing gratitude for their inspiring insights. The Counseling and Guidance Department, along with the dedicated support of the School Counsellor Mrs. Faheema Mustafa, Senior Activity Coordinator Mrs. Soumya Mathew, and Academic coordinator Mr. Firos Koovery and respective teachers, ensured the event was a powerful, engaging, and successful step in promoting mental well-being and awareness among the senior students.
