Mock Fire Drill Conducted at SIS – Afternoon School

October 20, 2025:

Shantiniketan Indian School successfully conducted a mock-up fire drill on Monday, 20th October 2025, for the afternoon session, as part of its continuous efforts to promote safety awareness and emergency preparedness among students and staff. The initiative was organized in collaboration with the Association of Parents and Teachers (APT) members of the school.

At 3:07 p.m., the fire alarm was activated, and teachers of Grades 2 to 9 promptly guided their students in a calm and orderly manner to the designated assembly area on the school ground. Each class teacher carried the green and red flashcards, along with the evacuation attendance sheet, to verify the presence of all students. Upon confirming attendance, all teachers raised the Green cards, indicating that every student had been safely evacuated.

The drill was conducted in collaboration with Pro for Fire Fighting – Professionals in Alarm and Fire Safety Equipment Installation, whose expertise and demonstrations made the session highly informative and impactful. The Pro team presented the PASS technique—Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep—illustrating the correct way to operate a fire extinguisher.
Students, including the Head Girl, Head Boy, and several staff members, actively participated in the live demonstration, gaining valuable hands-on experience in firefighting and evacuation practices.

The mock drill effectively tested the school’s emergency readiness and reinforced the importance of discipline, teamwork, and presence of mind during such situations.
Shantiniketan Indian School extends heartfelt appreciation to the Pro for Fire Fighting team, the teachers, and the students for their active participation and cooperation, which contributed to the overall success of this important safety initiative.
