June 23, 2025:
During the academic year 2024–25, Shantiniketan Indian School proudly organized the National Mathematics Olympiad (NMO) on January 20, 2025, for students of Grades 1 to 12. The event was conducted under the able supervision of Ms. Shamsiya Suhaibu (Head of the Mathematics Department), and the Academic Supervisors: Mr. Wayne Rodrigues (Preparatory Section), Ms. Nazia Saleem (Middle Section), and Ms. Bushara P. (Secondary Section).
Preparatory Section:
The following students were awarded gold medals: Arham Anwar (III), Prathwin M. Abinaya (III), Joseph Devis (III), Sufian Mohammed Kamal (III), Adam Abdullah (III), and Hawwa Zuhrah Edakkandi (III). In addition, six students secured silver medals and fourteen students received bronze medals. The participants were felicitated by Principal Mr. Rafeeq Rahim and Vice Principal Mr. Sujith Kumar during the section assembly.
Middle Section:
Fathima Nauraz (VI) received a gold medal, while four students were awarded silver medals and twelve students received bronze medals. The achievers were felicitated by the Principal and Vice Principal during the section assembly.
Secondary Section:
The following students were awarded gold medals: Izza Lamiya (XII), Mohammad Uzaair Ansari (X), Laiba Muslihuddeen (X), Jasaniya Elangeswaram (X), Pranav Suresh (X), Fawaz Ashraf (X), Ameen Abdulkhader (X), Zainul Abedin Modi (IX), and Keshika Sivanandham (IX). Additionally, five students received silver and five students received bronze medals.
Special Achievement:
Lamia Muslihuddeen brought great pride to the school by scoring 100% in the Olympiad, earning eligibility for a Shield of Excellence. In her absence, her Mathematics teacher Ms. Iman Niyas received the shield on her behalf.
Furthermore, Ms. Shamsiya Suhaibu was honored with a Special Certificate from the All India Schools Mathematics Teachers Association for being the Best Organizing Teacher of the Year 2024–25, recognizing her enthusiastic and successful coordination of the NMO event.
