June 12, 2025:
In alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, No Bag Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and creativity in the Preparatory Section of Shantiniketan Indian School. The initiative was designed to shift the focus from traditional classroom learning to experiential, activity-based learning — fostering holistic development and joyful engagement among students.
This vibrant and enriching event was conducted for:
● Grade III on 1st June – with students radiating cheer in shades of yellow, symbolizing happiness and positivity.
● Grade IV on 2nd June – dressed gracefully in shades of green, representing growth and harmony.
● Grade V on 3rd June – adorned in shades of blue, evoking calmness and confidence.
The day began with a refreshing warm-up session aimed at promoting mental well-being, setting the tone for a series of thoughtfully designed activities. From sparking creativity to enhancing collaboration, the entire schedule offered students’ ample opportunities to explore, express, and enjoy learning in new and exciting ways.
The program was meticulously planned under the able leadership of Mr. Wayne Rodrigues, Academic Supervisor of the Preparatory Section, and Ms. Nazia Tahseen, the dedicated Activity Coordinator. The collective efforts of all teachers contributed immensely to making this initiative a grand success.
The sheer joy and sparkling enthusiasm on the faces of the students were a testament to the impact of this special day. It was heartwarming to see them immersed in learning beyond books, through play, imagination, and shared experiences. For the educators as well, the day was both meaningful and refreshing — a reminder of the joy that lies in teaching beyond the curriculum.
