The students of Shantiniketan Indian School celebrated Onam with great excitement and enthusiasm. On Thursday, September 8th, the teachers and students celebrated Onam together. The teachers and students decorated a vibrant flower carpet in the school courtyard to kick off the Onam celebrations. The principal, Mrs. Pamela Ghosh Dasgupta, inaugurated the festivities. The principal expressed her best wishes for Onam and emphasized that Onam, the festival of Kerala, promotes intercultural harmony and universal brotherhood.
The cultural gathering held in the school hall was organized and conducted by the department of Malayalam. The teachers and students participated in a variety of cultural performances, including Onappattukal, poetry reading, classical dance, and folk dance.
Dr. Salil Hassan, Senior Vice Principal, Mr. Mathew K.C, the head of the English Department, and Mr. Prasad P., the head of the Malayalam Department, expressed their best wishes for Onam with a special message of love, equality, and harmony.
