Students of Shantiniketan Indian School celebrated Onam with much enthusiasm and excitement. Onam was celebrated by the students and teachers together on Tuesday 29th August. The Onam celebrations started by preparing a colorful flower bed in the school courtyard by the teachers and students. Principal Mr.Rafeeq Rahim inaugurated the Celebration. Principal extended the Onam greetings and pointed out that Onam, the National festival of Kerala proclaims cultural unity and human brotherhood.
The Cultural gathering held in the school hall was organized and conducted by the department of Malayalam. Students as well as the teachers performed various cultural programmes such as Onappattukal, Poetry recitation, Classical Dance, Thiruvathirakkali and Folk Dance.
Principal Mr.Rafeeq Rahim, Vice-Principal Dr. Salil Hassan, Head Teacher of Upper Primary Section Mrs. Nazia Saleem, Mrs. Bushra PK (Head-Junior Section),Syed Meraj Ali (Head-Secondary & Senior Secondary), Head of Malayalam Department, Mr. Prasad P and Mrs. Nimisha had extended their Onam greetings with the unique message of love, equality and harmony.
