Online Wellness Session for Students – Preparatory Section (FN)

March 15, 2026:

Our school organized an Online Wellness Session for students of Grades 3, 4, and 5 on the topic “Big Feelings, Small Steps to Calm.” The virtual session was conducted by School Counsellor Ms. Faheema Mustafa under the guidance of Mr. Wayne Rodrigues, Academic Supervisor, and Ms. Nazia Tahseen, Activity Coordinator.

The session aimed to help students understand and manage their emotions during the current uncertain situation in Qatar. Through age-appropriate explanations and relatable stories, students learned to recognize and normalize “big feelings” such as worry, confusion, and fear, while focusing on things within their control like their thoughts, actions, and daily routines.

Students were also introduced to simple coping strategies such as engaging in hobbies, staying active, connecting with loved ones, and practicing calming techniques. Activities including Balloon Breathing, Butterfly Hug, and the “Feelings Cup” drawing activity encouraged participation and reflection. The engaging session helped students build emotional awareness and discover small but meaningful steps to stay calm and resilient.
