June 15, 2026:
Shantiniketan Indian School (FN), in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, successfully conducted Puberty Awareness Sessions for Grade 6 students to help them understand the physical, emotional, and social changes associated with adolescence.
The session for Grade 6 boys was held on 15 June 2026 and was led by Dr. Sallam from the Ministry of Public Health, while the session for Grade 6 girls took place on 17 June 2026 and was facilitated by Ms. Annamma. Both sessions were thoughtfully designed to address the age-specific developmental needs of students and provided valuable insights into puberty, personal hygiene, self-care, healthy nutrition, emotional well-being, and responsible lifestyle habits.
Interactive discussions and dedicated question-and-answer sessions encouraged students to actively participate, clarify their concerns, and gain scientifically accurate information in a supportive environment. The programme fostered positive attitudes towards personal growth, strengthened self-esteem, and empowered students to navigate adolescence with confidence and understanding.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Soumya Mathew, Senior Activity Coordinator, under the guidance of Ms. Nazia Saleem, Academic Supervisor. Shantiniketan Indian School extends its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Sallam, and Ms. Annamma for their valuable contribution to promoting health awareness among students.
