Shantiniketan Indian School, Doha, celebrated Qatar National Day 2024 with patriotic fervor, bringing together students and staff to honor the nation’s legacy and achievements.
The event began with a symbolic Human Chain Activity, where students dressed in white joined hands to form a continuous chain around the school premises, symbolizing unity and solidarity. A highlight of the activity was when the Scout Team received the Qatari flag from the School President, Mr. Rasheed Ahamed, and carried it with pride during the parade. At the end of the parade, the flag was ceremoniously handed over to the School Principal, Mr. Rafeeq Rahim, emphasizing the seamless bond between leadership and community.
The Scout and Guides Parade further showcased the values of discipline and teamwork, as the students marched with precision and pride.The Foundation Section added a creative touch with their stunning “I Love Qatar” Formation, using students dressed in white and maroon to form the phrase on the ground.
A vibrant special assembly followed, starting with a prayer and the Qatar National Anthem. The assembly featured inspiring speeches, including one by the President, Mr. Rasheed Ahamed, and a heartfelt address by a student representative, both highlighting Qatar’s unity and achievements. The Principal, Mr. Rafeeq Rahim, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing Qatar’s vision and the role of the younger generation in carrying it forward. Cultural performances enlivened the celebrations, including an Arabic song and dance by the Preparatory Section and an Arabic speech by the Secondary Section. The event concluded with the screening of a special video showcasing Qatar’s rich heritage and notable accomplishments.
In the lead-up to the celebrations, the Arts Department conducted a Painting Competition, with students depicting iconic Qatari symbols and culture. The winning artworks were displayed on bulletin boards during the event. The Social Science Department organized an engaging Quiz Competition focused on Qatar’s history and achievements, with winners announced during the celebrations.
The event embodied the vision of Qatar National Day: “Strengthening Solidarity, Loyalty, and Pride of Qatar National Identity.”
