Qatar National Sports Day Celebration 2024

The Department of Physical Education of SIS successfully orchestrated a week-long series of sports events in commemoration of Qatar National Sports Day. The school witnessed enthusiastic participation across various categories, including football, basketball, handball, and a Marathon Road Race at Lusail Boulevard.
The football tournament took place on the school’s football field, featuring teams from various classes. In the Boys’ category for Classes 3 to 5, Red House secured the first position, while Green House clinched the second. Meanwhile, in the Girls’ category for the same classes, Blue House claimed the top spot, with Yellow House securing the second position. Transitioning to Classes 6 to 8 Boys, Red House emerged victorious in the first position, and Blue House secured the second. In the Girls’ category for the same classes, Green House secured the first position, with Yellow House earning the second position. The tournament showcased intense competition, highlighting the football skills and sportsmanship of the participating students.
The school’s basketball competition, held on the basketball court, added an exhilarating dimension to the sports events. Participants engaged in a spirited contest to score the highest number of baskets within a designated time limit, putting their shooting accuracy to the test. In the Classes 6 to 8 Boys category, the Green House clinched the first position, while the Red House secured the second position. Similarly, in the Girls’ category for the same classes, the Green House secured the first position, and the Yellow House earned the second position. The event showcased both skill and excitement, contributing to the overall success of the sports festivities.
The handball tournament unfolded on the dedicated handball court, featuring spirited matches among teams from various classes. The competition showcased remarkable handball skills and sportsmanship among the students. In the Boys’ category for Classes 3 to 5, the Yellow House claimed the first position, with the Green House securing second. Similarly, in the Girls’ category for the same classes, the Yellow House secured the first position, while the Blue House attained the second. Moving on to Classes 6 to 8 Boys, the Green House secured the first position, and the Red House secured the second. In the Girls’ category for the same classes, the Green House again secured the first position, with the Yellow House achieving the second. The tournament demonstrated the students’ dedication and proficiency in handball, contributing to the overall success of the sports events.
A total of 60 students (Boys & Girls) participated in the Marathon Road Race at Lusail Boulevard on 13 February, an event organized in connection with Qatar National Sports Day by the School Olympic Program committee. All participants completed the race according to their respective categories and distances, showcasing remarkable determination and stamina. Twenty of our students secured top 10 positions in the race. Overall, the Physical Education Department excelled in the successful execution of all activities with dedicated efforts. The event showcased outstanding athleticism, teamwork, and the school’s commitment to promoting a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
