SIS hauled several medals in School Olympic Programme (SOP) Competition organized under the aegis of Qatar Olympic Committee and Supreme Education Council held at Aspire Academy on 19th and 20th March, 2015.
Displaying great athleticism, the students of SIS bagged 2 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze medals in various individual and team events. Anas Hashim of XII-C, won a gold medal in High jump and a silver in Long Jump. Farzan Riaz of IX-I also won gold in the preparatory category of Long Jump. Adila Jaleel bagged Bronze in the Secondary Category of the Long jump. Syeda Sidra of VIII C won silver in Shot Put.
In the Primary Category, SIS Girls (Kariman, Ayah Abdul, Anna Mathews, Asma Adam, Marwa Abdi, Farhana Abdul and Sumaya Sarfaraz,) teamed up to win the Silver medal in Cross Country.
Mohd. Jabir, Anas Hashim, Fayis Mustafa and Farzan Riaz of Secondary category, formed the team to win the Bronze medal in the 4 x 200 meters Relay Race. Mohd Jabir also won the bronze in 60M Hurdles.
While Sushant Kumar of IX E (Secondary Category) and Wafa Shareef of Class I-G (Primary Category) took the silver medal in Taekwondo, Fouzan of III-A, grabbed the Bronze in the Primary Category.
Principal, Dr. Subhash Nair and the entire School Management congratulated the winners and the Physical Education Department for the rich haul of medals in a prestigious event in which all Independent and Indian Schools participated with their best team.
