Shantiniketan Indian School celebrated its 15th Annual Day with a cultural extravaganza titled ‘Splendour’ on Friday, the 28th of November, 2014. The function was attended by enthusiastic Parents and distinguished guests.

Starting with a supplication to God, the evening was sparkled by the captivating performance by the tiny tots of the KG Wing who danced to the rhythm of the pied piper. Sarah Salah Eldin Ahmed, the Head girl of SIS, welcomed the gathering with her speech and set the path for a fiesta of events that followed.

Principal Dr.Subhash Nair, presented his Annual Report highlighting the scholastic and co-scholastic achievements of the students. He also congratulated the Students, Parents, teachers and the Management for the phenomenal achievement of the school in this academic year.

The Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Salam Ahammed, Managing Director, Media One Channel, inaugurated the event and emphasized on the purpose of education and wished all the success to the management, staff and students in achieving their goals and objectives.

The Guest of Honour Prof. Gopinath Muthukad, renowned magician with a mission, appreciated the young talents and stated that their performance is so magical.

CBSE and CBSE-i school toppers and subject toppers were honoured by the Chief Guest. Students with remarkable achievements were felicitated by Mr. K C Abdul Latheef, President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Abdul Kadar, Secretary of the School Management Committee, Mr. Abdul Shukkur Vice-President School Management Committee Mr. V T Faisal, Mr.Shahanas, Mr.Noorudheen members. Mrs. Aruna Narayan, teacher in the KG section, was honoured for her meritorious long service at SIS.

Head Boy of SIS – Kelinton Edmund, expressed his gratitude to the guests and the audience for their presence on this auspicious occasion.

The audience were enthralled by the variety of programmes prepared and presented by the KG and Primary wing, the Junior and Middle School and the Secondary and Senior secondary students as well as students of the CBSE –I

The musical skit enacted by the tiny tots of primary wing took everyone to a Land of Bliss. They beautifully conveyed the message to inculcate positive habits and attitude. Students of CBSE-I presented a skit highlighting the changing trends of education. The Message of Unity in Diversity was reflected through a rhythmic fusion dance presented by Junior and middle section. Students of secondary section displayed a blend of dance, music, mime and skit to enthrall the audience with the message to bring back world peace.

The final performance was a blend of musical fantasy and smart skit performed by the senior secondary students who highlighted the social menace like corruption and dowry and ways to be united and to live happily for building a better nation. The play emphasized the role of youths in shaping the society while propagating peace throughout the world.

The colourful extravaganza was staged in a professional manner that left behind a deep and lasting impression on the audience who left mesmerized.

Mr. Shihabudeen Pulath, Vice Principal and the co-ordinator of the event presented his vote of thanks and complimented the performers as well as the teachers and parents who motivated and guided children towards perfection. He also expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Dudley O’ Connor [Vice-Principal CBSE-i], Mrs. Prabha Saji  [Head Mistress Middle Section and Mrs. Mehjabeen Hasan [Head Mistress, Primary Sec.] and Mr. Meeraj Ali [HOD – Commerce] and the team of teachers and students for all their hard work and dedication to make ‘Splendour’ really splendid.
