SIS New School Design Released during the Annual Day

Torrents, a cultural extravaganza as part of the 19th Annual Day Celebrations of SIS, depicted the talents of seven hundred students reflected the unassuming lives of people before a natural disaster, their apathy to warnings, the disaster, its effects and resilience. Introspection and retrospection that led to the development of stronger and greener environment.  The program was interwoven with music dance, songs, skits and mimes to show solidarity to humanity.

His Excellency Shri. P. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mrs. Rowda Safwan Zeedan – Director, Private Schools Affairs, Ministry Of Education and Higher Education, Qatar was the Guest of Honour at this prestigious Event. His Excellency Shri. P. Kumaran, stated that India is like a garden and diversity is its strength. He advised the students to cherish the national values of pluralism, tolerance, integrity, mutual respect and non-violence for which India stands.

The Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and Management Committee honoured the students and teachers. His Excellency presented the awards to the toppers in the AISSCE -2018, Mrs. Rowda Safwan Zeedan presented the awards to the toppers in AISSE 2018 Examinations and Mr. K. C. Abdul Latheef presented awards to the students who excelled in Scholastic and Co-Scholastic activities. The teachers of the Qatar toppers in different subjects were also felicitated. Mr. Donald received an award for the most innovative teaching strategy – “Multilingual inclusive innovative teaching strategy”. Mrs. Anuradha Tripathi, Mrs. Fathima Rizna, Mrs. Latha Shyammohan, Mrs. Shazia Samreen, Mrs. Jasmi Faizal, Mrs. Dhanalakshmi Muruganandam, Mrs. Rahath Begum, and Mr. Ilyas received awards for their long-term meritorious services to the school.

President of the School Managing Committee – Mr. K.C. Abdul Latheef, while addressing the gathering expressed happiness at adding new milestones every year. He attributed the unique strength of SIS to its team work and also by upholding the great values of human equality, right to quality education, and our national values like pluralism and secularism.

His excellency Shri. P. Kumaran and Mrs. Rowda Safwan Zeedan released the design of the new school which is being built on the land allotted by the government of Qatar for which a contract was signed by the school management and the government of Qatar earlier this year.

Principal – Dr. Subhash Nair, presented the Annual Report highlighting how the development of the school is aligned with the vision and mission of the school and the significant achievements of the school in the Academic Session 2018-19.

Shri Hemant Kumar Dwivedi, First Secretary (Information, Culture and Education), Embassy of India and Dr. Sweta Dwivedi encouraged the students’ talents and creativity with their esteemed presence during the cultural extravaganza.

Headboy of the school – Master Aditya Bhagat, welcomed the large gathering and the Head Girl, Montaha Ahmed presented the note of appreciation.
