The 67th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great zeal and fervour at the campus of Shantiniketan Indian School. A great aura of patriotism and nationalistic spirit was visible at the campus.
The Guest in Chief, President Mr. K. C. Abdul Latheef hoisted the National Flag to mark the occasion. Also present on the occasion was Mr. Abdul Kader, the Secretary of the Management Committee of Shantiniketan Indian School – Doha, Qatar.
Principal, Dr. Subhash Nair, delivered the Republic Day message highlighting the importance of Skill Development in the students to make them real global citizens. He also quoted the words of Shri Pranab Mukherjee’s Republic Day Speech in which he stressed the role of educational institutions in shaping the youth to lead the progress and development of India.
The Department of Social Science presented a short cultural programmed in which the students and the Teachers joined hands to spread the aura of patriotism in its campus. Archana Ratnakaran of Class X A and Shazeena Hussain of VII C relived the history of the Freedom Struggle that brought Independence and paved the way for India’s emergence as one of the most rapidly developing country in the world.
The Male teachers sang a medley of patriotic songs in different languages reflecting unity in diversity. The Female Teachers also presented a group song infusing a spirit of patriotism among the audience that comprised the members of the Managing Committee, Vice Principals, Headmistress’, Administrative Staffs, Teachers as well as the non-teaching Staff.
Hadiya Zacharia of VIII D of Malavika brought the audience alive with their scintillating performance that touched the heart of all present on the occasion.
The presence and active participation of Scouts and Guides led by Mr. Adam Shaikh added special colour to the event.
Tabarak Gulrez, of VIII C delivered the Vote of Thanks making the day a memorable for all present on the occasion.
