SIS celebrated the 66th Republic Day with a cultural Program organized under the auspices of the Social Science Department.
The Day began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Mr. Shihabudeen Pullath – Vice Principal Admin. He addressed the gathering with a motivational speech and advised the staffs – to work with sincerity and dedication to take SIS to a great height.
The Teachers presented patriotic songs that created an aura of patriotism and spiritualism reflecting the rich culture and tradition of India. Mr. Shakir Hussain (HOD Social Science) recalled the sacrifice of patriots and leaders who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom and took India towards development.
As part of celebrations students from different sections presented Tableau to showcase the images of Our Freedom Struggle. The Students of CBSE-i presented the Tableau showing the evolution of the education system in India and its contribution towards making India one of the most popular democratic government in the world. The KG Wing displayed the burning issues confronting the Indian Government and the effectiveness and support of the people in overcoming these issues that sets an example before the world.
The Junior Section students created an aura of patriotism with an inspiring patriotic song and the Theme “A Salute to our Great Leaders and Nation.” The Middle School focused on the Fundamental Rights an important Feature of Our Constitution that was made effective on 26th January, 1950. The Students enlightened the gathering wonderfully portraying all The Six Fundamental Rights and their importance in a citizen’s life in a Republic.
The Secondary Section presented “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” to relive the history of the Freedom Struggle starting from the Great Revolt to Freedom and our Achievements till date. They went further to portray India of their Dreams where India would be standing above other developed nations as leader of Democracy championing the cause of humanities around the world propagating Peace, Prosperity and Progress.
Mr. Dudley O’ Connor delivered the vote of thanks and appreciated the support of the teachers and admin staff for making the day an eventful one and the students for spreading the true spirit of the tri-colour.
