SIS Model United Nations 2025

September 13, 2025:

The SIS Model United Nations 2025 (SISMUN 2025) was held on 13 September 2025, from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM, with grandeur, enthusiasm, and academic spirit, making it a memorable and transformative event in the school calendar. The Social Science Department, under the complete guidance of Mrs. Payal Das (HOD, Social Science), initiated this student-led event, which stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering intellectual growth. The conference was not only an exercise in debate but also a platform for nurturing leadership, diplomacy, and collaboration among students.
The Opening Ceremony was gracefully anchored by Ms. Angel Bindhu Varghese, Head of Administration, whose warm words set the tone for the day. The session began with a solemn prayer, inviting blessings for the success of the event, followed by the national anthems of Qatar and India. These opening moments captured the spirit of unity and mutual respect which defines the Model United Nations.
A welcome address highlighted the true essence of MUN—beyond debate, it is a space where dialogue bridges divisions, where critical thinking inspires change, and where young leaders are given the opportunity to imagine solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges. The address inspired delegates to embrace responsibility, diplomacy, and vision throughout the sessions ahead.
As part of the ceremony, a Token of Esteem was presented to the school’s leadership in gratitude for their guidance and support. The President, Principal, Vice Principal, and Operations Manager were honoured for their vision and dedication, which made the conference possible. The Executive Committee also took this moment to warmly welcome the Academic Supervisor and Headmaster, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their continuous support and encouragement in making SISMUN 2025 a grand success.
Adding vibrance to the occasion, cultural programmes included a welcome dance, symbolising joy, harmony, and tradition, followed by a melodious song by Rachael Solomon, infusing the atmosphere with grace and celebration.
The Executive Board was then introduced to the audience, recognising the efforts of the Secretary-General, President, Deputy Executives, and Heads of Committees, as well as the Finance, Media, Administration, Delegate Affairs, Technology, and Conference Management teams. Their tireless commitment, creativity, and teamwork formed the backbone of SISMUN 2025.
The ceremony also featured inspiring words from the President – Ms. Fatemeh and Secretary-General – Ms. Shaza of SISMUN 2025, whose vision and leadership reminded delegates that true leadership lies in collaboration and consensus. Their addresses encouraged all participants to debate with purpose, negotiate with empathy, and lead with integrity.
With the ringing declaration by the President, the SIS Model United Nations 2025 was officially declared open, and delegates proceeded with anticipation to their committee sessions.

Committee Sessions
The heart of the conference lay in the dynamic committee sessions, where delegates immersed themselves in debates, negotiations, and the drafting of resolutions. This year, SISMUN 2025 gathered an impressive participation of 76 delegates, guided by 8 Chairs and Co-Chairs, bringing together more than 120 students in total. This remarkable turnout reflected the growing interest in Model United Nations and the school’s commitment to offering students a meaningful platform for dialogue and leadership.
The four committees convened, each simulating real-world challenges faced by international bodies:
● United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
● International Monetary Fund (IMF)
● Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM)
● United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
Across these committees, participants showcased remarkable research, critical thinking, and diplomatic skills. They navigated complex issues, engaged in persuasive argumentation, and collaborated to formulate practical solutions. The Chairs ensured that debates remained constructive, fair, and inclusive, allowing every delegate to contribute meaningfully.
The sessions demonstrated not only intellectual rigour but also the values of empathy, respect, and global citizenship that MUN seeks to instill.
The Closing Ceremony marked the conclusion of an intellectually stimulating and collaborative day. The atmosphere was filled with pride as delegates, teachers, and dignitaries gathered once again to reflect on the achievements of the conference.
The Chairs of each committee—IMF, UNDP, UNHRC, and SOCHUM—shared their reflections, highlighting the energy, commitment, and diplomatic spirit displayed by the delegates. Their words testified to the depth of discussions and the quality of participation.
A Recap Video captured the highlights of the conference, reminding participants of the debates, cultural segments, and camaraderie that made SISMUN 2025 memorable.
The most awaited moment of the ceremony was the Award Distribution, where outstanding delegates were recognised in three categories: Honourable Mention, Outstanding Diplomacy, and Best Delegate. Each award celebrated not only achievement but also the dedication and resilience shown by participants throughout the day.
