January 7, 2025:
Numerothon – A Mathematics Extravaganza was conducted on 7th January, 2025 for the students of Middle School by the Department of Mathematics. The program started with the importance and involvement of Mathematics in everybody’s life. The MC of the event, Ms. Shailza, introduced the brain-teasing journey into the world of Mathematics. The program focused on how Mathematics is not just about solving problems but more about discovering patterns, thinking logically (critically), and unlocking the magic of Math in everyday life.
Alongside the August gathering of students, the event was blessed with the presence of our dynamic Principal Mr. Rafeeq Rahim, Academic Supervisors Ms. Nazia Saleem and Mr. Wayne Rodrigues, and HOD of Mathematics, Ms. Shamsiya Suhaibu. The participants, one from each class and division, were divided into 5 teams named Math Angels, Math Survivors, Math Scholars, Math Magicians and Math Titans. Each team had a participant from grade 6, 7 and 8.
The first round was a test of numerical skills and quick thinking – Number Nexus; quiz mastered by Ms. Alphonse Sinthia. Math Maze, the second round quiz mastered by Mr. Sanu Mathew, tested the ability of puzzle solving. A final showdown of logic and reasoning – Logical Lane was the last round of the quiz, mastered by Ms. Kahkashan Yasmeen. The scoring was done by Ms.Hamna. Math Titans, secured first place. The logical and reasoning question in the tie-breaker was answered by Math Magicians, Making them the runner ups of the quiz.
The event ended with the certificate distribution by the Principal.
