Shantiniketan Indian School emerged with flying colours in the Interschool Kalotsav -2013, organised by Sanskrithi, Doha, for the students at the Indian Schools in Qatar. A group of 47 students, representing various categories, actively participated in the event and brought home laurels.
Shivani K Noushad emerged winner in fancy dress and light music, stood second in poem recitation and classical music while her group secured first position in group song. Ashique S bagged first position in Malayalam Essay Writing competition and Archana R won second place in English Elocution. Marwa Salah, Rajeswary P Nair, Shifa Gafoor and Suhaina Iqbal won third place in water colour,poem recitation,keyboard and mappilappattu respectively. Earlier, Hadiya Zachariya and Adila Jaleel were the winners and runners in the mappilappattu competition, exhibiting a captivating performance. They made their way into the victory singing the popular songs ‘Harab narar..Amara Surar’ and ‘Anjitha Monjula’ composed and directed by the school music teacher and music director Mohasin Kurikkal.
