A student of Shantiniketan Indian School emerged winner in the 8th Shaikh Ganim Al Thani- Quran Memorisation competition conducted recently by the Ministry of Awqaf.
Irshadul Hassan of class IXC won the laurels for SIS emerging topper from among 1797 contestants in Category VI. Earlier in 2012, he had secured the sixth position in the same competition. There were participants from 120 Quran Learning Centres.
Irshadul Hassan, the son of Mr. Abdul Rasheed Al Kauzary (preacher at Fanar) and Mrs. Khairunnisa Padanna, has been learning Quran at Abu Bakar Siddiq Hifdul Quran Centre.
The Management, Principal, staff and students of SIS appreciated the winner for this marvelous achievement. He dedicated his achievement to the rigorous training given to him in the school by the department of Islamic Studies.
