Makeover 25– the signature Professional Development Programme, for the teachers of Shantiniketan Indian School, conducted in three phases spanning a period of two months, concluded on Sunday. Teachers developed the Learning Standards Framework in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, for all subjects, sections and levels as a preparation to kick-start the new Academic Session 2022 -2023
Director – Academics, Dr. Subhash B. Nair reviewed and gave valuable inputs to refine and develop a model Learning Standards Framework to help the teachers get equipped and trained as they launch themselves to adopt curricular practices with focus on developing and enhancing essential competencies among learners. He also enlightened the teachers on various aspects that included managing stress and developing skills that can make them more resilient. Teachers were also enlightened with the importance of learning something new, staying positive and working on attitude. He also made the teachers understand the need and ways of Creating Success in School by systematically nurturing children to perform at the highest level, creating advanced learning opportunities and ways to strengthen the cognitive levels of learners across all levels.
Learning Standards Framework developed by all the departments were presented and valuable insights were shared to improve Teaching-Learning Process and Assessment Tools, to develop and test competencies. Teachers were also advised to continue their efforts on improving the document to be better placed in coping with the reforms coming up with the implementation of recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020.
Principal – Mrs. Pamela Ghosh Dasgupta, expressed her happiness and appreciated the efforts put up by the teachers in the exercise to develop the Learning Standards Framework and its implementation in the new Academic Session to provide a refined learning experience to the students as they start their Session 2022-2023
