Teachers’ Day Celebrated at SIS with Great Pomp and Show

The Student Council Members of Shantiniketan Indian School, organized a meticulously designed programme to celebrate Teachers’ Day paying homage to the Birth Anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan – a great scholar, philosopher and Politician who served as the Second President of India.

They carried out the days teaching learning transaction throughout the school and played the role of their delightful teachers. They organized a one-hour entertainment programme specially designed for their teachers. They seamlessly delivered speeches to shower their love towards their teachers, sang melodious songs, performed rhythmic dances to make it a memorable for their teachers.

Later in the day, the SIS School Management Committee recognized six teachers for their outstanding contribution towards the development of the school and care for learners. Mrs. Elizabeth (Chemistry), Mr. Tanveer Ahmed (HOD -PE), Mrs. Shamsiya Suhaibu (HOD Maths), Mr. Wayne Rodrigues (English), Ms Nazia Tahseen (English) and Mrs. Mukta Chaturvedi (IT) were honoured during the programme.  

Speaking on this special occasion, Mr. Rasheed Ahmed – President of the SIS  Management Committee, praised the teachers for their dedicated hard work in the progress of the school and thanked all the teachers for being a teacher and a teacher at SIS. While talking about the joys of being a teacher, Principal – Ms. Pamela Ghosh said that the achievement of materialistic things does not leave a long lasting impact on the teacher’s life  but it is their influence on the mind and heart of students and their future that gives them more joy and happiness. She appreciated all the teachers for their service to humanity. She also appreciated the performances of children for a synchronised programme that enthralled the teachers and gave them a memorable day.
