The Academic Guidance Workshop (2026–2027)

April 26, 2026:

The Academic Guidance Workshop for the 2026–2027 academic year, organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), was held on April 26, 2026 at the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau. The session brought together academic advisors and school counselors from across Qatar, including Ms. Faheema Mustafa and Ms. Ansiya, to strengthen the role of academic guidance in aligning student pathways with national workforce needs and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The workshop highlighted that academic guidance today goes beyond university admissions, focusing on preparing students for future-ready careers. A key focus was the Government Scholarship Program, outlining pathways to local and international universities, along with application timelines, eligibility criteria, and high-demand fields such as STEM, healthcare, education, creative industries, sports, and logistics.

Emphasis was placed on “career matching,” encouraging students to align their interests and strengths with labor market demands. Advisors were also guided to help students identify skill gaps and build essential competencies like communication, digital literacy, professionalism, and English proficiency.

The session provided valuable insights to enhance counseling practices and support students in making informed academic and career choices.
